SEC In Review

(6) Georgia-34 @ Tennessee-31

Sully’s CFP was looking forward to this game all week.  We expected Tennessee to be energized in front of a 100,000 plus crowd and a battle tested Georgia to step up in a hostile environment.  It all happened and more ….. A thriller from start to finish!  Georgia ran the ball effectively, 238 yards, a 6.4 yards per carry, & a touchdown.  Aaron Murray was terrific & hopefully has put to rest some unfair labels he has had to deal with these past years!.  In overtime, Tennessee looked to take the lead, but as RB Alton Howard dove for the endzone, he lost the ball, which resulted in a touchback.  Georgia then capped off the game with a 42-yard field goal by Marshall Morgan.

(24)Ole Miss-22 @ Auburn-30

Somebody check the sheets, Sully’s CFP called for an upset!  The Tigers pounded the Rebels defense with their running game.  Led by their QB, Nick Marshall, who rushed for 140 yards on 14 carries … translated to  10 yards per carry!  These great rushing stats also came along with 2 rushing TDs as The Tigers pulled of the upset at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Arkansas-10 @ (18)Florida-30

This was a great defensive effort by Florida, only allowing 275 yards, while forcing 2 turnovers.  The Gators QB Tyler Murphy had a very efficient game going 16/22 for 240 yards and 3 TDs.

(10)LSU-59 @ Mississippi St-26

LSU came into Starkville with an attitude after their loss last week against Georgia. Their choices were, …  step up or sit down, … clearly they stepped up! They completely shut out Mississippi State in the second half, while Zach Mettenberger had a great game, completing 25/29, for 340 yards, & 2 TDs!

Georgia St-3 @ (1)Alabama-45

Nothing much to say here, as Alabama came in as the heavy favorite and, as expected, annihilated Georgia State.  The Panthers stumbled into Tuscaloosa and got hammered by the Tide’s defense, managing only 15 rushing yards!
