Boston College 1-4 @ Florida State 5-1: In the last ten meetings FSU has won six, including the last two, 24-19 in 2010 & 38-7 last year @ BC’s Alumni Stadium. Both squads are coming off disappointing to shocking losses; BC loss to Army, 34-31 and FSU was upset by NC State, 17-16!
Maryland 3-2 @ Virginia 2-4: UVA is 15 -5 vs Marland, including last year’s drubbing, 31-13. Last time the Terrapins were @ Virginia’s Scott Stadium they were popped by the Cavaliers, 42-23! In fact, Maryland has not recorded a victory over Virginia in any of the past five seasons! That said, let’s add this… the games have not been close, with the exception of the 2007 game, played at Maryland’s Byrd Stadium, an 18-17 Terrapin loss!
North Carolina 4-2 @ Miami 4-2: These teams, although both 4-2, appear headed in different directions. North Carolina held serve at home against a traditional power (but struggling this year) Va Tech, 48-34; while the high scoring Hurricane winds were calm in the Windy City, as ND had smouth sailing, 41-3! Miami has won the last two meetings vs the Tar Heels, 33-10 in 2010 & 30-24 last year; while UNC had won the 3 previous games from 2007 through 2009!
Duke 5-1 @ Virginia Tech 3-3: This is the most interesting game in the ACC in week seven. Duke is having its best season in years and it is heading to Blacksburs to take on VT, who has beaten the Blue Devils 11 staight times. While 5-1 this season, Duke has not beaten a FBS team that has a winning record, meanwhile, the Hokies are having their worse season ( 2007, 11-3; 2008, 10-4; 2009, 10-3; 2010, 11-3; & 2011, 11-3) in the past 5 years and then some @ 3-3!
Clemson 5-1: has a Bye week … Nexu up Va Tech @ home.
NC State 4-2: has a Bye Week … Next up @ Maryland
Wake Forest 3-3: has a Bye week … Next up @ Virginia
Georgia Tech 2-4: has a Bye week … Next up BC @ home
