I can’t speak for you, but for me, I am really confused on how Texas defines conference membership. They seem to follow a logic of… one for you… 3 for me…. and we’re good!! Even in the mighty SEC; Vanderbilt gets what Alabama brings. In the Big Ten the Hoosiers get the dough ($) that the Buckeyes & Badgers earn… because they are in the same conference, Texas!!!. I’m guessing that the Big Ten Network is banned in the Longhorn State… or wait … maybe it is dubbed over by the Longhorn Network… Texas, please redefine conference or go the way of the Irish… Independent forever baby!!!
Right now the Big 12 is the second best conference in the country… only the SEC has a better product on the field! WAIT… I got it!!! Let’s stay together….. ok wait… how does Texas define together?
On to the Games: # 6 Oklahoma State @ # 8 Texas A&M. These teams are not only members of the same conference but were also in the old south division and thus have met 5 times in the past five years. In 06 & 07 A&M won both times by a point; 34-33 & 24-23. In 08, the Cowboys pounded the Aggies 56-28 & won in 09 36-31. Last year State won a wild affair 38-35. Oklahoma State can score on anyone, Justin Blackmon is the best wide receiver in the country and QB Brandon Weeden may have the best arm in the nation. The question is their Defense… Oklahoma State gave up 34 to Louisiana Lafayette in week one & 33 to Tulsa last week. A&M is much better than these teams defensively and has as much or more offensive talent. The Cowboys put a 61 spot on ULL and 59 on Tulsa… those #”s will not happen this week. The Aggies, who are favored by 3 to 4.5, will find a way in a close game @ Home!
