Game of the Week in the Big East

Since we already have spoken to the LSU / West Virginia game, let’s turn to the next best game involving a Big East Team, Pitt vs Notre Dame. These teams have met 3 times in the past 5 years with Pitt winning twice once in 08 36-33 in 4 overtimes & again in 09 27-22. Last year the Irish prevailed 23-17, although Pitt was in the Red Zone 3 times in the 1st half and scored only 3 points and had the ball twice in the last 3 minutes of the game down 6. Pitt comes into the game 2-1 with unimpressive wins @ home over Buffalo 35-16 & Maine 35-29 and a 4th quarter meltdown loss @ Iowa 31-27. ND has also been less than as advertised with a home loss to South Florida 23-20 & a 35-31 debacle @ Michigan. Last week… they righted the ship … somewhat… @ home against an overrated Michigan State 31-13. Look for ND to have their way against Pitt’s hapless pass defense. ND is favored by 6 and should with this game by at least two scores.
