Sully vs Game Simulator vs Point Spread

I am getting hammered by my own creation, the Game Simulator is predicting game outcomes, factoring in the spread, with 70% accuracy; while Sully is stumbling along at 42%. This gives new meaning to the ” Rise of the Machine(s)”!! The worst part about this, is in looking back at results & rethinking (if U can call it thinking) …. I would, given the available info, likely do the same thing. In other wards, I had no Ah-ha moment! The picks were based on solid data that is on SCFP and some of these outcomes are puzzling, to say the least! Please review and let me know your thoughts!

I knew I should not have given up Jameson for Lent last year, clearly it threw me off! I am going to Jamie on the Rocks on Christmas Day, and then, I know, I’ll do better when the bowls start back up on the 26th! Stay Tuned!!

Sadly, the Jameson has been of no help. I will redouble my efforts in that realm!

Please note:The GS predicted a tie in the Army game at 31 and that is exactly what happened, a 31-31 tie at the end of regulation! As a result, the GS’s numbers are one off of Sullys 23 to 24 games. Finally, please review actual bowl games if you have doubts about what I am saying regarding GS’s numbers! To the best of my knowledge they are accurate!

Enjoy the games!

We then invert the process by taking Nevada’s total offense, add it to what Arizona gives up on defense, get a total and divide that number by 2  to get the second mean… the greater number (with the exception of Turnovers) is then determined to have the advantage ( please note …. statistical advantage). Sully’s CFP Game Simulator is a statistical analysis / predictor of how these teams will preform, based solely on their numbers, when they face off on the gridiron! Keep in mind, these stats were established against different teams and conferences and these differences must be taken into account to get a complete picture when attempting to predetermine a winner. If you are interested in how the Simulator works … read this part … if not … skip it! The process used is … we take Arizona’s total yards on offense, add it to what Nevada gives up on defense, …  get a total and then divide that number by 2 … to get the mean. We then invert the process by taking Nevada’s total offense, add it to what Arizona gives up on defense, get a total and divide that number by 2  to get the second mean… the greater number (with the exception of Turnovers) is then determined to have the advantage ( please note …. statistical advantage). We repeat this process in each of the eight statistical categories assessed!  That said… here are the results of the Head to Head Analysis:

Total Yards Advantage: Stanford 413.5 to 367
