Sully Talking Stuff

Lane Kiffin Says No to Democracy: USC’s Kiffin is at it again or at least that would be the Tennessee perspective / interpretation…. that Kiffin among his many other evils could now be defined as an enemy of the one man one vote concept. Kiffin has told USA Today he will no longer participate in their Coaches Poll which rates the Top 25 Teams in the Country. When asked about Rich Rodriguez (PAC 12 Coach @ Arizona) saying he voted the Trojans number one in the nation; Kiffin stated “I would not vote USC number one, I can tell you that much.” In fact, he did vote the Trojans #1! USA Today released his vote which is, well was confidential…  to preserve the polls integrity. Give me a break…  Integrity… newspapers… what next… 1st Amendment Rights were in jeopardy! Everybody in the country knows the coaches vote their respective conference’s high given the dollars involved in the Bowl selection system. Kiffin’s comment was simple coach speak for keeping a smaller target on his teams back… period…I really do not see anything sinister or diabolical about the remark! Yeah, I get it…. it was not factual… so what! In America, we adopted the Australian Ballot for a reason… it’s secret… So…should I tell you media dopes a secret or keep pressure off my Team… I GOT IT… I’ll protect my players!  Pete Carroll, former SC coach, refused to participate in the poll saying it was literally impossible to vote accurately on the 120 or so teams participating in the FBS. Further, the vote has to be in by 7:00 a.m. on Sunday, that is a lot of data to cover on your flight back from South Bend. Finally, and clearly….. we need the games to start!
