Missouri @ Georgia -9.5: Georgia is coming off two tough games, LSU, 44-41 & Tennessee, 34-31, in OT. The Dawgs won both games, but at a high cost; wide receivers Michael Bennett (Ortoscopic Surgery … knee .. may or may not return later this season) & Justin Scott-Wesley (out for season… knee), running back, Keith Marshall (out for season… knee). This coupled with an earlier … season ending injury to WR, Malcolm Mitchell … in any scenario, all of these players are out for this week’s Missouri game. As if this is not enough, All-American RB, Todd Gurley, is questionable for Saturday game in Athens. Meanwhile, the Tiger head for Samford Stadium with a perfect 5 & 0 slate, including an impressive road win at Vanderbilt, 51-28. All that said, this Bulldog team is a battle tested unit that will rally around their QB, Aaron Murray, @ home, come game time on Saturday! Simply stated, the Tigers have not played in an environment like they will be in @ Samford Stadium. Ninty thousand plus wild Dawgs Fans whose wounded team will rally around their their circumstances and play their best game of the year! Sully’s CFP says: take the Dawgs and give the Tigers the 9.5!
Florida @ LSU -7: Last year, Florida susprised, if not shocked, the college football world with their, 14-6, win in Gainsville over LSU. This is a great game, both teams have been ranked in their last nine meetings and in the last five, the Gators have won three, but only once in Tiger Stadium. LSU is 2-1 in the SEC and really cannot afford another loss … win out and they will play for the conference championship and a berth in the BCS National Championship Game. QB, Zach Mettenberger & RB, Jeremy Hill are off to terrific starts and Baton Rouge will be rocking Saturday afternoon! Sully’s CFP says: Take the Tigers & give the Gators the 7!
Stanford -8 @ Utah: Stanford rolls into Salt Lake City with an unblemished 5 and 0 mark with impressive wins over two undefeated teams at the time they met! Arizona State was 2-0 when they battled in Stanford Stadium, a 42-28 Cardinal victory. Washington was 4-0 when they played last week, again, in Stanford’s House, with the result being Stanford 31 Washington 28! These teams last played in 1996, a 17-10 Ute win, thus their first PAC 12 Meeting! Utah is 3-2 overall & 0-2 in PAC 12 play, losing to Oregon State, 51-48, in OT & 34-27 to UCLA. Both of these losses were, like Saturday’s game, @ home! The Utes have not been able to defend their home turf against weaker opponents than who they will line up against on this week’s game day! Sully’s CFP says: Give the Utes the 8 and go with the Cardinal!
Boise State -7 @ Utah State: These teams were in the WAC until Boise State left the conference to join the Mountain West in 2011, they were also in the Big West Conference together, before their time in the WAC. The Broncos beat the Aggies in 08, 49-14, in 09, 52-21 & in 010, 50-14. USU comes into the game with a 3 & 3 mark, having beat, Air Force, 52-20, Weber State, 70-6, & San Jose State, 40-12. The Aggies have lost @ Utah, 30-27, at USC, 17-14, & to BYU @ home, 31-14. Boise is a susprising, to some, 3-2, having lost to Washington, 38-6 & Fresno State, 41 to 40! They have one common opponent, Air Force, Utah State beat the Fly Boys, 52-20, while BSU beat AF, 42-20! Boise started the season with 9 returning starters and a learning curve was expected, while Utah State had 14 returnees for the 2013 season. The Aggies experience advantage has evaperated as we enter week seven! Sully’s College Footbakk Page predicted these early losses to Washington & Fresno and also believed that, as Petersen’s team gained playing time, they would look a lot like his other teams, … last week they beat Southern Miss, 60-7! Sully’s CFP says: Take BSU and give USU the 7 points!
Texas A&M -6.5 vs Ole Miss: Two wards are the difference in this game, Johnny & Manzel. Ole Miss is talented, but young, while A&M is led by the nation’s best player, at a position, QB, where he handles the ball on every offensive play. Ole Miss’ defensive youth is at risk on every snap. The Aggies enter the Rebels Vaught-Hemingway Stadium with a 4-1 record, falling to only the nation’s #1 team, Alabama, 49-42! Ole Miss is happy to be out of the State of Alabama, having lost to Bama, 25-0 & Auburn 30-22, the past two weeks at their respective Alabama arenas. Last year Ole Miss played A&M close, 30-27, @ home and do to a quirk in the schedule, they face A&M in Oxford again this year. Sully’s CFP says: it won’t matter, A&M covers the 6.5
Michigan -3 @ Penn State: Penn State from a structural standpoint, is the best FCS team in the country. The Nittant Lions are down to 67 scholarship players on their roster, an FCS program is limited by structure to 63 while a BCS program at full strength is allowed to carry 85 on full rides. These low numbers seem to be having an effect, evidenced by their first every loss to Indiana, 44-24 last weekend. O’Brien has done an excellent job with the X’s & O’s, but he clearly lacks the # of Jimmy’s & Joe’s needed to compete at this level! On the other hand, Michigan seems to have emerged from their sleep walk wins over Akron, 28-24 & U-Conn 24-21, by pounding Minnesota, 42-13. PSU has won 3 in a row in this series, 08, 46-17; 09, 35-10; & 010, 41-31, The teams have not met in the past two years! These losses from 08 through 010 were during the Rich Rod year’s, when the Wolverines played little to no defense! Sully’s CFP says: Michigans win and covers!
Sully’s CFP is 19 -17 vs the spread! 4-2 Last Week!
