During Prohibition, it became\nThe Mint, trading spirits for soft drinks, tobacco, and cigars. Fred Brand\noperated the cafe, and Adam J. Brand joined him by 1927. In 1940, the Mint Cafe\nmoved to its present location in downtown Wausau. Today, the owners, Joe &\nSherry Schulz, continue to protect the traditions, welcome guests by name, and\nfoster a community that feels like home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Through every era, from saloon to cafe, from one generation of owners and guests to the next, The Mint has succeeded by balancing change with familiarity.
