Recruiting Ratings

 Sully's College Football Page (SCFP) recruiting data is based on three sites: ESPN, 247 Sports, & Rivals. We calculate a 4 year average in each site (Independent of one another) we then take the 4 year average of each site, add them together, and then we divide that total by three (3) to get a composite score.

Some of the results are/were quite susprising: 1) Vanderbilt's four year composit score was just below IU's (IU's 49.7 to Vandy's 49.9) IU made the CFP, while the Commadores struggle to make a bowl game. Clearly raises the issue of 'strenght of Schedule; or are their other factors to be considered? 2) Nebraska, who has not been to a bowl game since losing the Music City Bowl to Tennessee, 38-24, in 2016. is a top 25 recruiring program; and finally, 3) Notre Dame, under Marcus Freeman, continue to improve their team rank, the Irish are now the 7th best recruiting program in the country. The Irish made the CFP, beat IU, won the Sugar & Orange Bowls, yet many still believe ND to be overrated? On SCFP we take a very different track, until this past year, we tended to look upon the Irish as under achievers! ... not overrated!
