This past year, like many before, the Big Ten leads the attendance parade. The league occupies the top three (3) spots (Michigan 110,246, Penn State 107,379, & Ohio State 104,663). The Southeastern Conference places teams in six (6) of the the next seven (7); Bama, LSU, Tennessee, A&M, UGA, & Florida. In other words, the B-10 & the SEC dominated College Football Attendance in 2022. The two conferences placed nine (9) teams in the Top Ten!

The lone interloper is Texas (B-12), who will be entering the Southeastern Conference in 2024. That fact means, in 2024 the entire Top Ten will be filled by the SEC (7) & the B-10 (3).

The Top 25 teams include ten (10) from the SEC, seven (7) from the B-10, three (3) from the ACC, two (2) with the P-12, the B-12 has also has two (2) & one (1) Independent, ND!

The highest ranked Groups of Five (G5) program is East Carolina (39,647), from the American Athletic Conference (AAC), @ #57. That said, Central Florida came in @ 54th (41,542), yet will be moving from the AAC to the B-12 for the 2023 season. So technically UCF was playing out just one year from Power Five (P5) status and it is not much of a stretch to see how that fact could have bolstered their home attendance.
